A British woman has benefited from Invisalign braces and orthodontic treatment, and is celebrating a full set of adult teeth for the first time.
Emily Cheeseman, from Tunbridge Wells, previously lived with four baby teeth at the front of her mouth – due to a condition called hypodontia – that meant her adult teeth never grew in place of the baby ones.
The travel executive, 28, has now had her milk teeth replaced with adult-sized implants.
The woman had two implant screws with also crowns fitted – and had Invisalign clear braces fitted to open space in her mouth, so the new adult teeth could be put in. The orthodontic work was completed at her local clinic, the Harman Clinic in Tunbridge Wells.
She was so delighted she was happy to share the story with her local newspaper.
“My new grin is fantastic – I actually do not mind smiling in photos now,” she told website: Kent Online.
The benefits of Invisalign braces are they are near invisible braces consisting of a series of clear, removable trays that are specially designed; and actually fit over your teeth and move them into place by the tooth root.
Each set of plastic trays is worn for around two weeks and only has to be removed for eating and cleaning the teeth.
Invisalign is ideal for adults and those who do not want the look of brackets and wires, ensuring less discomfort and less time in the treatment chair.
